At Groupe Atlantic, we believe in giving back and every month we have a chosen charity to which we are invited to donate to through ‘dress-down Friday’ and other activities. This summer, the Leeds office – which is home to many of the commercial team, including Ideal Heating Commercial, Hamworthy Heating, and ACV – had its nominated charity selected: Many Tears Animal Rescue.
Established in 2004, Many Tears take in animals from difficult situations, rehabilitates them, and finds them loving forever homes. Many of the rescue dogs are from breeders, where they are often subjected to neglect, poor living conditions, and overbreeding. They also take in abandoned and stray cats and dogs from pounds, unwanted pets directly from homes, and dogs from overseas when space permits.
It appears the Groupe Atlantic team are very much animal loving people and we are delighted to announce that a whopping £1,143.00 was raised for this remarkable charity! A spokesperson from Many Tears Animal Rescue said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Groupe Atlantic for choosing Many Tears Animal Rescue as your Charity of the Month and raising an incredible £1,143! Your support means the world to us and the animals in our care. At Many Tears, we dedicate ourselves to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs (and other animals) in need, giving them a second chance at life. Thanks to your kindness, we can continue providing vital care and a safe haven for dogs who need us most.”
In addition to the donations from ‘dress-down Friday,’ where staff have opted in to donate a small amount from their salary every month in exchange for dressing down, our very own Kimberley Goodwin, Commercial Estimator, helped organised a ‘guess the number of sweets/dog treats in the jars.’ Not just one or even two jars, but three jars each crammed with mint humbugs, dog treats, and chocolates. We are pleased to say we had plenty of entries and, although no one guessed the exact amounts, the three winners came very close indeed! They were rewarded with a food hamper, a chocolate hamper, or a dog hamper.
Commenting on the event, Kimberley Goodwin said: “Thanks to the generosity of our colleagues through our monthly charity fund contributions, we raised an incredible £1,143 to help Many Tears continue their life-changing work. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, your kindness helps wag more tails and change more lives.”
Both Kimberley and Rebecca Johnson, Marketing Director for Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI & NA, who nominated Many Tears Animal Rescue, are big animal fans, with several cats and dogs between them!
