We are proud to be an official sponsor of this year’s CIBSE Scotland conference, which is being held at the University of Strathclyde Technology Innovation Centre in Glasgow, 7th - 8th June. This two-day conference will address key issues in building services, and implications of the Building Safety Act in Scotland.
Ideal Heating has been a long term supporter of CIBSE and its members, sharing a number of closely aligned goals, notably the desire to educate and to support built environment professionals in their pursuit of excellence. As an official CIBSE Patron, we have participated in and sponsored several key CIBSE events, including the Building Performance Awards Engineer of the Year since 2019, and Young Engineer Awards which we have sponsored for the past three years.
Commenting on the decision to sponsor the CIBSE Scotland conference 2023, Darren Finley, Managing Director – Ideal Heating Commercial Products, said: “Around 20% of UK emissions - and 40% of our energy consumption - are attributed to heating and hot water for buildings. Decarbonising these as much as possible is critical if we are to achieve net zero by 2050. Ideal Heating is fully committed to supporting customers in their net zero journey and our presence at the CIBSE Scotland conference forms part of that strategy; it’s vital we work in partnership with building services engineers to both understand their needs and pain points, and provide them with reliable, readily available low carbon solutions.”
The CIBSE Scotland conference 2023 is split across two days with distinct themes. Presentations on the first day of the conference will cover a wide range of topics related to achieving CO2 emission reductions and operational efficiencies, delivered by several high profile speakers from companies and organisations such as NHS Scotland Assure and Scottish Renewables. The second day addresses the Building Safety Act as it applies to Scotland, examining the differences that are to be expected for a practitioner in Scotland working on projects in England and those in Scotland.
Visitors to the conference will be able to speak with the Ideal Heating Commercial team and find out more about our low carbon heating solutions and how they are best applied.
