We are pleased to announce the addition of a new one day course to our training portfolio, on air source heat pumps. This advanced course, aimed at those with existing knowledge of heat pump technology, provides a comprehensive understanding of how a heat pump can be successfully integrated into a plantroom, along with controls solutions.
The primary focus of the training course is on the wide range of flexible wiring and programming options available for our ECOMOD R32 commercial heat pump and/or ECOMOD 290HT natural refrigerant commercial heat pump. This includes how to wire the unit, 3 Phase supplies and how to ensure correct phases, before proceeding to configuration, creating cascades, schematics, checking and adjusting flow rates (including minimum volumes), and buffers.
Concentrating on controls strategies, the course demonstrates how to enable the heat pump, from simple make and break contacts to utilising the latest technology to operate valves, control a hot water circuit and bivalent setups. The latter includes advice on how to use an external sensor to set the bivalent point when adding a gas boiler to cascade.
In addition to these core areas, the new Advanced Heat Pumps training course addresses installation requirements such as location and noise considerations, and structural strength; commissioning; and maintenance and troubleshooting, including cleaning of strainers and filters, defrosting, and how to dispose of condensate.
Differing solutions are explored throughout the course to offer as many opportunities as possible to integrate a heat pump into your existing portfolio of commercial heating spaces, using schematics to bring the scenarios to life.
Looking specifically at ECOMOD 290HT, which uses ultra-low GWP natural refrigerant, the course highlights key considerations when using R290 refrigerant, including Atex rated tools and safe working practices, commissioning, and calibration of the R290 detectors.
The Advanced Heat Pumps course is provided free of charge and delivered through our Expert Academy Centres of Excellence at Leeds and Luton, which are fully equipped with Ideal Heating Commercial product displays for you to get interactive, hands-on training. The course is typically run between 9am to 4pm, with lunch included, and can be customised to meet your specific needs.
